Reading Record

Each Monday I will give your child a Reading Record.  They will have a week to fill it out.  There are 5 blocks to fill out, so they must read 5 out of 7 days.  It must be signed by you and returned to me EVERY MONDAY.  I will then give them a new log for the upcoming week. 

Next log is due Tuesday, February 21st
 
Independent Reading Book (IRB):  Students are required to bring a novel that they are reading on their own in order to meet the requirements of our Independent Reading Program.  Novels are chosen by the students; they can be brought from home or checked out from the library. They must come to class every day and students must prove that they read the book by providing a book report. These projects will count as a Language Arts test grade and Homework grade. 


Current Events Article

In addition to the weekly reading record, I also require a weekly current events article.  Each Monday the students will get a form to fill out and they must return it on the following Monday. (when they will get a new one for the following week)  They may use a newspaper, magazine, or read an article on the internet.... the choice is theirs.

Homework for the Week of February21st

                    Continue to work on Social Studies project 

                    Read your book and fill out your log every day!!
